Are you someone with a history of heart disease who is currently on a cholesterol-lowering medication, but still has elevated cholesterol? If so, you could be eligible to participate in our groundbreaking heart disease research study!
Study Background
This study is evaluating a medication designed to lower LDL-cholesterol, also known as the “bad” cholesterol. Lowering LDL-cholesterol has been shown to reduce the risk of death and heart attacks. In people who have high cholesterol despite taking a cholesterol-medication, finding a solution is especially important.
This study is known as a “Phase 3” trial, meaning the drug has already been evaluated for safety and is now being studied for its effectiveness. The intent of the drug is to reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other heart events in people with heart disease.
What to Expect
Researchers are looking for committed individuals to participate in this study for about 3 to 4 years. Study participation will involve both clinic and telephone visits. If qualified, you may be compensated up to $1050 for your time and travel. You’ll also receive study related care at no cost.
Who Qualifies?
In order to enroll in this study, participants must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Have a history of heart disease (i.e. heart attack, stroke, etc.)
- Have high cholesterol
- Be currently taking a cholesterol-lowering medication
